Our pricing, plainly
At Shore Doors Locksmiths our call-out is $120 + GST, which covers travel and the first 15 minutes on site. After that, time is charged at $30 + GST per 15 minutes — and only if the job runs longer. We always confirm a fixed quote before any extra work starts, so you know the price up front. That's in business hours (Mon–Fri 7am–6pm). Lockouts and emergencies are covered 24/7: evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays, the call-out is $225 + GST including travel and the first 15 minutes, then $45 + GST per 15 minutes. What most jobs cost
- Lockouts — a standard house or business lockout in business hours usually lands around $120–$180 + GST.
- Rekeying — from $60 + GST per lock, plus the call-out.
- Key cutting — $15–$25 + GST per standard key when we're already on site.
- Lock repairs, replacements and security upgrades — the call-out plus time, quoted on site before we start.
What changes the price
The main variable is difficulty. A straightforward lockout or rekey is quick; a lock that has to be drilled because it can't be picked, damaged hardware, a broken key snapped in the mechanism, or a job across several doors all take longer. That's why we quote on site once we can see what we're dealing with — rather than throw out a number that changes later.
Watch out for "$35 locksmith" ads
A very low advertised call-out is often a hook. The teaser price gets someone to the door, then the final bill balloons with add-ons. Our price is what you pay, agreed before we start work.
